**Job Description**:
**Position Title**: People & Culture Coordinator

**Terms**: Full-time permanent (34 hours/ 4-day work week)

**Salary**: 40-50K, based on experience plus generous benefit package, including health, dental and pension plan

**Location**: Based at our Vancouver Office with hybrid work model

**Reporting to**: Director, People & Culture

**About the Role**

Join our dynamic and purpose driven People & Culture Department, where you will be able to put your Administration and Human Resources skills and knowledge at play. At the David Suzuki Foundation, we are a group of passionate people working at making a real difference in the world. We are looking for an organized and energetic self-starter to join our team as our People & Culture Coordinator.

**Responsibilities**

In this is hands-on role you would provide Administration and Human Resources support to our People and Culture team, and our three offices across Canada.

You help to administer our people initiatives, help provide great employee support, and help support HR functional excellence and administration processes.

**Administration**
- Update, organize and maintain all HR department records and employment files.
- Develop and maintain HR tracking spreadsheets
- Coordinate and participate in various People and Culture related committees.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, HR events and maintain agendas.
- Support implementation of Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.

**Recruitment and Onboarding**
- Assist as needed in our recruitment processes.
- Update job descriptions and job postings.
- Coordinate all onboarding and orientation processes for new employees.

**HRIS**
- Help to ensure data integrity in HRIS (Rise/Hub) system
- Daily maintenance of HRIS system including updating employee/company information and organizational chart, monitoring vacation/statutory holiday entries, etc.
- Running and distributing reports as needed.

**Health and Safety**
- Assist People & Culture with the administration of Health and Safety programs including Covid policies and measures.
- Conduct safety inspections including the maintenance of accident records.

**Education & Experience**

**What you bring to the role**:

- Post-secondary courses in a related field, or the equivalent in relevant work experience.
- 1+ year experience in a busy administration and service role. Ideally within a HR function.
- Friendly and professional customer service approach.
- Team player. You thrive in a busy, deadline-driven and information-rich workplace.
- Resilient and flexible. You are a quick learner and a collaborative colleague who enjoys being part of a team and can work independently.
- Strong experience with MS office including Word and Excel.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll, benefits, and employee issues.
- Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills. Must display patience, sense of humor and helpfulness at all times.
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills. Accuracy is essential.
- Knowledge of Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Worker Compensation Act, Occupational Health and other employment legislations of BC, Ontario and Quebec is an asset; or the ability to pick up quickly.
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector and knowledge of environmental issues are an asset.
- Passionate about equity, diversity and inclusion with the ability to support purposeful change.
- Excellent communication skills, written and spoken. Bilingual (French/English) an asset.
