**Line Chef**
**Location**:Toronto, Ontario
**Status**:Full-Time and Part-Time
**Starting Rate**: $18.00 Per Hour
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Follow and complete daily prep lists made by Chefs
- Basic cooking duties such as preparing sauces, chopping vegetables, meat, herbs, etc.
- Follow the first in first out (FIFO) method to maximize freshness - label and store food properly
- Manage new shipments of food and organize all orders as they arrive
- Assist with cleaning, sanitation, and all storage areas
- Cook designated dishes based on the area you are in the kitchen
- Be very vigilant on quality control of prepared dishes
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation with proper sanitation
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Must obtain Food Handlers Certificate
- Able to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
- Comply with Health and Safety Guidelines
- The minimum requirement is to lift 10lbs and stand on your feet for nearly the whole shift
- Available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in hospitality and cooking in a fast-paced restaurant is an asset
- Understanding professional cooking and knife handling skills is an asset
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Night shift
Supplemental pay types:
- Overtime pay
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
