**Full Time Support Position - CYC / ECE / EA**

**(Primary and Kindergarten)**

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Providing direct support to one primary student in core learning classes in the morning
- Providing direct support for regulation and participation to one Kindergarten student in the afternoon.
- Accommodating and modifying curricular expectations in the moment.
- Providing reinforcement of skills.
- Providing out of class instruction as directed by the homeroom teacher.
- Experience with English Language Learners is an asset.
- Experience providing social / emotional support.
- Experience as a co-regulator.
- A passion for learning about the best approaches for working with exceptional children.
- Maintaining productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.
- Discussing students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.
- Other duties as required

**Knowledge, Skills and Attributes**
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Post Secondary Education in child and youth work, education, early childhood education, etc.
- Experience working in a special education environment
- Experience working with Kindergarten and primary aged children
- Evidence of building a strong rapport with children and parents
- Demonstrates patience and flexibility
- Experience working with students hard of hearing preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of learning a new language.
- Demonstrate a passion for ongoing learning and professional development
- Has an aptitude for differentiated learning styles and approaches.
- Be skilled in the use of technology
- Have a creative approach engages students with a range of learning styles
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team.
- Ability to work flexibly and to adapt in a constantly changing and thriving environment.
- Demonstrated talent for teaching, coaching, mentoring and inspiring students
- Proven ability to develop smooth, collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues
- Evidence of strong written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Experience using differentiated instructional strategies and learning strategies.

**Salary**: Starting salary begins at $20 - $30 / hour

**Hours**: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3.5 months

**Salary**: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
