**About Us**:
The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, and four Research Centres. The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).

The Canadian Centre for Activity and Aging (CCAA) was established in 1989 as a research and community centre, affiliated with the Lawson Research Institute of St. Joseph's Health Centre and the Faculties of Kinesiology and of Medicine and Dentistry at Western. Shortly after its establishment the Centre received a federal grant to develop exercise and leadership programs for older adults.

**Responsibilities**:

- The Applied Research Coordinator supports the Leadership team with a wide range of administrative duties to support programs,
- research projects, department or other business units. The incumbent will carry out administrative functions, communicate and build
- relationships with a wide range of internal and external contacts. The Applied Research Coordinator will anticipate and resolve issues,
- coordinate projects, and implementation of administrative systems and procedures. The incumbent will serve as a contact of
- information regarding administrative functions. The incumbent may be required to provide analysis, information and reports on primary-
**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Undergraduate Degree, in Health Sciences related field

**Experience**:
- min 3 years of administrative experience in an office environment supporting projects and grants

Key Responsibilities:

- conducting literature reviews
- developing drafts of research protocols
- creating draft budgets for review
- sourcing and consolidating all supporting documents required for grant submission
- Corresponding with grant team members regarding all aspects of grant development and implementation
- Initiating and developing drafts of protocols for human ethics board submissions including drafts of informed consent,

letters of information as per Western protocol- Ensure study documentation is in order
- Drafting progress and financial interim, final and summary reports as reviewed by the Leadership team
- Writing drafts and submitting conference abstracts, papers, posters and presentations
- Writing, editing and submitting drafts of manuscripts
- Writing Standard Operating Procedures related to research grant and program evaluations/Assisting in the development

of CCAA research-related governance and standard operating procedures documents- Monitoring and facilitating CCAA research and program evaluation databases
- Help perform qualitative and quantitative data collection, entry and analysis, ensuring high quality data management for

research studies and program evaluations- Liaise with representatives from external Universities, private and government organizations, community groups, CCAA

team members as well as Western University faculty and staff (e.g., funding) members to identify needs and partnership
- opportunities and consider appropriate funding opportunities- Facilitate effective collaboration with internal and external research coordinators and investigators
- Communicate direction to support staff for CCAA-related research studies and program evaluation, as assigned by the

PI and approved by the Executive Director- Review recruitment requests to CCAA and direct to the CCAA leadership team for approval
- Coordinate recruiters for recruitment process at CCAA
- Data entry of results and other results into CCAA database such as Harold
- Coordinate CCAA researcher membership status and lists from the leadership of the CCAA Scientific Director
- Organize meetings for members and staff of the CCAA research team
- Help coordinate projects for FHS and Western Practicum students for research-related duties and activities as approved

by the leadership team- Help coordinate duties for work study students on CCAA-related research studies and CCAA program evaluations
