Project Leader Accessories Development Textile

The project manager will be tasked with overseeing the implementation of soft goods’ accessory projects to create and produce a wide and varied range of products that meet the specific needs of our vehicles. The project manager will manage several projects simultaneously and keep the team motivated, informed and work-happy. You will need to demonstrate great adaptability and good leadership skills as well as good communication skills. The Project Manager will collaborate on a daily basis with the Engineering, Design and Purchasing teams as well as the Prototypists and Textile Developers.
Your skills will help you to carry out the project manager duties: Organize work; Lead and motivate a team; Make decisions; Coordinate tasks, Manage project(s); Handle conflicts, Find solutions, Manage information.
It is important for the project manager to be familiar with the development of têxtile products and to be able to actively participate as a collaborator. Technical skills are therefore also required for this position.
**YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO**:
Continuously monitor and update project schedules.
Forecast budgets and product cost estimates.
Design the patterns needed to manufacture samples in-house
Create Tech Packs and assorted technical documents required to communicate on product developments.
Inspect and track the various samples under development and create related documentation.
Participate in the development of new materials
Participate in the development of new manufacturing processes
Provide ongoing technical support to the various stakeholders involved in the development of têxtile products.
THIS ROLE IS A GOOD FIT IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
A technical diploma in Fashion Design, or a college certificate in technical clothing, or a Vocational Studies Diploma in pattern or garment design or training in industrial sewing.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in developing related soft goods.
A high school diploma or university degree in management and/or equivalent professional experience would be an asset.
Strong organizational skills.
The ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
Determination to meet commitments.
The ability to manage financial resources (budget, cost estimates) and human resources (team).
Leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong teamwork skills.
Excellent communication skills in French and English (written and spoken).
Excellent self-management skills.
Conscientiousness and attentive to detail.
Creative mindset, resourceful and ability to work independently.
Ability and interest in manual work, knowledge of industrial sewing machines.
Knowledge of soft goods mechanics.
Knowledge of soft goods manufacturing processes.
General knowledge of têxtiles and their manufacturing processes.
A desire to learn and grow in the têxtile industry.
Determination to meet commitments.
Desire to learn and grow in the têxtile industry.
Interest in motor sports.
Knowledge of BRP products would be an asset.
**SOFTWARE SKILLS**:
Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Adobe Illustrator (intermediate level)
Adobe Photoshop (basic knowledge)
Pattern and marker design software (Pad system, Lectra, Gerber or Optitex)
**3D Drawing Software**: Solid Works, Inventor, CATIA (basic Knowledge)
