The Endpoint Technical Specialist is located in Markham, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Service Desk Manager. The Endpoint Technical Specialist maintains all computer systems hardware inventory, lead computer/lab refresh and deployment projects, perform other specialized deployments, develop, test, and install images for all desktops, laptops and netbooks. This roll is responsible for receiving delivery of new IT equipment, ordering replacement parts for workstations & laptops, processing and arranging the disposal of substandard IT equipment at all regions. This roll also maintains accurate databases and spreadsheets, provides data when requested to the Manager and IT Budgeting and Planning Analyst.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
**Image Creation Installation, Testing & Maintenance**
- Participates in the development and maintenance of technical standards and procedures to the set-up and use of the image software
- Takes corrective action to improve image performance based on recurring problems or issues

**_Provides advice to IT staff with respect to the configuration and operation_**
- Responds to requests for technical assistance with all branches of IT (Systems, Application, Networking)
- Works with IT Management to ensure license compliance
- Research and learn technical details of all new hardware and imparting knowledge to other IT Staff
- Evaluate current hardware and advise of future hardware upgrades to accommodate business needs to maintain productivity
- Coaching IT Technical Services staff to familiarize them with new equipment or software upgrades
- Configure and develop custom components with technology partners (analysts, developers, designers etc.) to meet requirements and goals
- Share technical expertise during incident management life cycle (analyses reports and outages, perform impact assessments, facilitate stakeholder communication).
- Acts as the escalated technical resources for the organization
- Troubleshooting computer related problems, performing on-site analysis, diagnosis and repair computer hardware, mobile devices, laptops, printers, monitors, headsets, and displays.
- Produce software packages through the use of management systems for deployment

**_Maintain and manage lab environment and IT asset management systems_**
- Determines available equipment inventory and recommends appropriate device based on need
- Arranging for defective part(s) under warranty to be sent back to vendor
- Updating the Asset Tracking System to reflect disposed of equipment
- Respond to work order request and coordinate shipment of special requested equipment to multiple regions
- Maintaining inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses

**EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS**

Degree or Diploma in
- Post-secondary education in a related field

**WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Advanced experience with computer hardware architecture and operating system
- Software packaging and deployments experience
- Basic networking knowledge
- Software scripting knowledge

**SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS**
- ITIL, A+, and Net+ or similar certification would be an asset
- SCCM or Intune experience would be an asset
- Command shell or PowerShell
- Basic SQL administration
- Travel as required to support sites and projects
