**Accounting Clerk**

Blue Line Transportation Ltd is the largest and oldest ground transportation provider in the Golden Horseshoe. Blue Line offers comprehensive ground transportation services to Hamilton, Burlington and the surrounding areas. This service includes Private hire, contracted ground transport, and traditional Taxi service.

Blue Line is committed to maintaining a wholly operated Canadian business. This includes Call Centre and Backoffice operations aimed at serving customers in this part of Canada.

The company has invested substantially and hosts a state-of-the-art Call Centre Operation using enterprise grade software in an AWS hosted environment. This Call Centre operation is digitally connected to all back office operations, including a fully digital transport set of tools. The Finance department is looking to add an Accounting Clerk to the team. This position involves work in all parts of finance and Accounting tasks, including.
- Cash management, accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, bookkeeping, data validation, data migration management and financial accounting.
- Monthly billing
- Reconciling and posting accounting entries (fuel charges, mobility charges, insurance charges etc)
- Month end reconciliations and entries
- Posting and reconciling vendor payments
- Regular bookkeeping
- And all other Accounting team tasks

Other responsibilities include:

- Data entry functions into key industry systems
- Manage and compare key data between accounting systems and other third-party technology tools and systems. (including review and reconciliation of app based payment systems)
- Prepare journal entries by reviewing and analyzing data for accuracy.
- Performs reconciliation of general ledger accounts as required.
- Reconciles bank statements and credit cards as needed.
- Maintains accurate and timely information in the accounting system for all transactions.
- Completes special projects as assigned by management.
- Performs other duties as required by the team.

**Qualifications and Education**
- Proven and proficient use of automated accounting software
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication
- A Diploma, degree or certification in business, accounting, or administration from a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution
- As a result of the role requirements, experience of at least 3-5 years in a similar role is required.
- Must be able to work independently with mínimal supervision or assist others when needed., and must be able to work in a fast paced environment.
