Stantec’s Alberta Environmental Services group is currently seeking a Junior Environmental Planner to work within our Assessment, Permitting and Compliance Team. **Your Key Responsibilities**
- Provide environmental planning and regulatory support on a wide variety of energy sector projects
- Support project managers with project team coordination, health and safety procedures, budget and schedule updates and monthly reporting
- Track daily reports, incident reporting, task status and project schedule
- Attend team and client meetings, record and distribute meeting minutes
- Set-up and coordinate environmental field programs
- Work closely with biophysical disciplines to plan for and manage requirements for field surveys
- Work collaboratively with the team to provide innovative solutions and help meet our energy transition and EGS goals
- Support the implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation
- Participate in team and independent based work
- Participate in field surveys under the supervision of the crew lead, as necessary
- Take part in on the job learning and professional development opportunities

**Education and Experience**
- A Bachelor’s degree in the sciences or in an environmental field of study
- Direct environmental and regulatory related experience in the energy sector (oil and gas, pipelines, electrical transmission, power generation) is preferred
- Previous consulting experience is an asset
- Understanding of provincial and federal regulations and permitting requirements is an asset
- Previous field experience, or interest in conducting field work, is an asset

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.
