We are seeking a talented Intermediate Environmental Project Manager to join our Calgary office and be part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. This exciting opportunity will allow you to drive Matrix's strong safety culture and support simple to moderately complex ARRM projects.



About the Role

This key role involves collaborating with internal project teams across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, soil scientists, and ecologists to deliver high-quality products that meet our clients' unique project needs. You will also be responsible for managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities


  • Actively participate in and drive Matrix's strong safety culture
  • Support simple to moderately complex ARRM projects
  • Ensure internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients' unique project needs
  • Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with internal project teams across disciplines
  • Communicate with clients and project-related stakeholders
  • Manage client communications and expectations
  • Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans, and cost estimates
  • Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:




  • A minimum of three (3) years' previous project management experience
  • Project management experience in ARRM projects in Western Canada or familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Workday software would be an asset
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Eligibility for registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with preparing work plans, cost estimates, and scopes of work
  • Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail-oriented, possess good organizational skills, and have the ability to prioritize
  • Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver's license with no restrictions

Location and Salary

The successful candidate will be based in our Calgary office and will receive an estimated salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
