A facility of this caliber requires a hands-on, creative and curious Executive Chef who will join The Okanagan Golf Club’s passionate leadership team and coach our excited kitchen team.

**Responsibilities**:
Plan menus considering guests, market conditions, dish popularity, costs and a wide variety of other factors; update menu engineering seasonally
Prepare all necessary budget data and collaborate with the Food & Beverage Services Manager to look at corrective actions needed to help meet financial goals
Recruit, train, inspire and manage performance for culinary Team Members
Cook or directly supervise cooking with a positive and professional approach
Attend Department Manager communication meetings
Establish controls to minimize food and supply waste and loss
Schedule and co-ordinate all kitchen Team Members’ work to assure that food preparation is economical and technically correct according to the menu syllabus
Develop recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation which help to ensure consistent high quality and to minimize food costs; exercise portion control over all items served and assist in establishing menu pricing
Work cross-functionally with the Food & Beverage Services Manager (and Assistant) and Event Managers/Coordinators to ensure that culinary offerings consistently exceed guest expectations

Solid a la carte and best practice culinary understanding; event banquet experience is an asset
Full apprenticeship and a minimum three years of Journeyperson/Red Seal or equivalent experience
High degree of administrative and executive ability, especially in problem solving and decision making
Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic focus skills
Works efficiently and maintains organization in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude
Uses self-awareness and emotional intelligence to convey and embody Leadership at GolfBC core standards
