Microtel Inn & Suites, managed by Sparrow Hotels and owned by Long Plain First Nation, is situated on the Keeshkeemaquah Reserve near Portage La Prairie. This 75-room hotel features complimentary breakfast, a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, and a fitness center. It also offers meeting space for up to 60 guests and houses Kookums Korner & Market. Guests can enjoy scenic views of Crescent Lake and are conveniently located near the Keesh Gaming Centre and the National Indigenous Residential School Museum of Canada.

**Job Overview**
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for supporting the activities of the Maintenance Department to ensure that hotel guests enjoy well-maintained rooms and a safe, secure environment. This role includes general maintenance of all guest rooms, public spaces and will monitoring and maintaining all equipment within the property effectively.

**Duties**:
1. Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure the safe and efficient running of all equipment

2. Prioritize and carry out maintenance as requested by departments

3. Maintain lot and outdoor facilities

4. Maintain records of repair work, test work and daily checks as required by federal, provincial and company standards

5. Liaise closely with Guest Services and Housekeeping regarding “off market” rooms

6. Complete deep cleaning duties, following safe and cost-effective cleaning procedures

7. Maintain the safe and hygienic upkeep of the swimming pool using all chemicals in accordance with management/manufacturer’s instructions

8. Assist with other departments to ensure maintenance and cleanliness of guest rooms and spaces

9. Other relevant duties as assigned

**What you bring to the table**:
1. 1-2 years of experience working in a maintenance role, previous hotel experience considered an asset

2. Previous pool experience considered an asset

3. Experience with basic hand tools

4. A positive and hardworking attitude.

5. Ability to effectively communicate with team members.

6. The ability to stay focused in a high volume, fast-paced industry and ensure accuracy and procedures are followed.

**These shifts will be part time to start and are evening shifts.**

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
