Program Coordinator

Responsibilities:
YWCA Prince Albert’s Our House Supportive Recovery Centre is home to three distinct programs serving specifically: Women in Crisis, individuals living with persistent mental health and addiction experiences, and people seeking haven while in pre and post in-patient substance abuse treatment. All three programs have their own distinct space but operate in synch to create a community where people gain a sense of belonging and purpose.
The Program Coordinator is an integral member of the Our House team working together to provide meaningful support for clients/residents in a flexible, compassionate, and responsible manner.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license;
- Must Pass YWCA security screening (criminal record and vulnerable sector check);
- Mental Health First Aid/willingness to get;
- Understanding and awareness of First Nations culture;
- Good communication skills, written and oral;
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team;
- Demonstrate a pro-active approach, flexibility, tolerance, perseverance and competence;
- Understanding of the principles and practices of Trauma Informed Care;
- Post-secondary education i.e. Rehabilitation Worker, Disability Support Worker, partial
university or other relevant training and experience in the human services field and/or lived
experience in the area of Mental Health/Addiction recovery;
- Experience in working with people with mental health, substance misuse and/or cognitive
disabilities;
- Excellent time management skills;
Remuneration: $**56, 244 **per year

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to staff members, in all areas, including confidentiality, positive work
environment, and conflict resolution;
- Maintain written and computerized records, compile reports and complete other program documents (including case notes, statistics, letters, etc.);
- Be available for an “on call” schedule;
- Provide culturally sensitive programming, case management, counselling and other needed services to clients;
- Ensure critical incidents are properly documented and reported to manager;
- Develop and coordinate the day program. Including activities and programming;
- Assist in the implementation of support plans and case-management including follow - up for clients;
- Uphold and maintain policies and procedures for all programs;
- Assist with meal program as requested;
- Oversee lounges and maintain cleanliness and decorum;
- Support in delegation of day - to - day duties and responsibilities for staff members;
- Daily coordination with Our House supervisor and liaison for information sharing with staff members;
- Assume responsibilities of supervisor in their absence;
- At all times work towards the achievement of YWCA Prince Albert Vision and Mission Statements;
- Any other duties as requested by management;
Probation: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three - month probation period.
