**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager, Airport Operations Training Standards, Systems and Compliance, this position is responsible for the ongoing development, documentation, maintenance and monitoring of airside training standards and programs to ensure Toronto Pearson’s training activities are undertaken in accordance with both regulatory requirements and industry best practices and to ensure development, documentation and implementation of standardized “key” training processes across the organization.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Identifying training requirements, creating training program plans, course templates, standard operating protocols and processes, and ensuring content is available and updated in applicable Learning Management Systems
- Capturing and documenting best practices, ensuring that training processes and content are created, modified and improved on a regular basis to reflect changes in operational practices, scope of business activities, and new technologies
- Supporting the development of the Airport Operations training framework, inclusive of processes, supporting documentation, templates, documentation management systems, job aids, module content development, timelines, and records management processes
- Ensuring training programs are developed in conjunction of assessment of hazards, analysis of risk and impact, industry best practices, and including necessary injury hazard mitigation
- Liaising with training content designers and developers for the purposes of providing guidance, support and direction to ensure Airport Operations (AO) training program deliverables are meeting requirements and expectations and are effective
- Acting as a lead representative for Airport Operations Occupational Health and Safety program including supporting and oversight of the necessary knowledge base and activities required for the GTAA to remain compliant to associated regulations
- Maintaining the Airport Operations (AO) database of Occupational Health and Safety process documentation, Job Safety Analysis records and other relevant information
- Participating as required in Occupational Safety Management Systems (OHSMS) incident reviews and investigations
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs including compliance to applicable regulatory standards to ensure programs remain effective and appropriate for the airport environment
- Monitoring and assessing training programs to ensure requirements, objectives, and delivery modes are suitable, including the oversight of contract service providers to ensure program delivery to identified standards
- Conducting oversight reviews and audits of department training activities, ensuring adequate records are kept and that training activities are effective, recommending corrective action plans where appropriate and monitoring for compliance
- Ensuring programs remain within budgetary requirements
- Participating in audit activities as an observer as required
- Assisting with unit budget preparation and expenditure tracking, assisting in the development of unit goals, objectives and training plans consistent with aviation Operational, Safety & Training and GTAA Corporate Strategy and tracking progress to ensure achievement

**Qualifications**:

- College diploma, teaching certificate or equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience
- Five (5) years airport experience in a combination of the following areas: Aviation Safety; Airside/Airfield Operations; Occupational Health and Safety; Project planning, management and oversight, Aviation and Maneuvering Area Safety and Support Systems; SMS and Quality Assurance; and Training program content development and delivery
- Experience designing and implementing training programs inclusive of curriculum with multiple learning methods (i.e. e-learning, instructor-led, virtual, etc.)
- Two (2) years training/awareness experience including creating training materials and conducting training in a formal classroom setting
- Experience working in a regulatory environment including applicable federal aviation regulations
