Safety and Compliance Manager

Lantrax Logistics is a dynamic and rapidly growing Asset-Based logistics company committed to delivering excellence in transportation services. As a leader in the industry, we prioritize safety and compliance to ensure the well-being of our employees and the success of our operations. We have three operating divisions, the main focus of this position is the Asset-based trucking division and our Warehouse and Yard Safety
**Position Overview**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Occupational Health and Safety**:
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards in the workplace.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
2. **NSC Compliance**:
- Stay abreast of National Safety Code (NSC) regulations and ensure that Lantrax Logistics remains in full compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor NSC compliance and implement corrective measures as needed.
3. **Driver Log Book Compliance**:
- Oversee the accurate and timely completion of driver log books (paper logs and e-logs, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations. Submitting files to our external log book auditor company.
- Provide training and support to drivers on proper log book procedures.
4. **Driver Screening**:
- Implement thorough driver screening processes, including background checks and medical examinations, to ensure the recruitment of qualified and safe drivers.
- Monitor and evaluate driver performance to identify areas for improvement and provide necessary training.
5. **COR Safety Program Management**:
- Manage Lantrax Logistics' Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety program, including the development and maintenance of safety policies and procedures.
- Coordinate COR audits, track performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
**Qualifications**:
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CRSP) is an asset.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the logistics or transportation industry.
- In-depth knowledge of NSC regulations, driver safety, and COR program management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
**Salary**: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
