Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Safety and Environmental Manager to join our Infrastructure Division in Metro Vancouver and Langley, BC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) best practices at our work/project sites.

About the Role

This is a site-based position that requires weekend shifts. You will provide guidance to operations and clients on health and safety matters while advising on Ledcor's Health and Safety Management System. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with jurisdictional regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to operations on HS&E matters based on a solid understanding of program execution throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and lead by example.
  • Assist in coordinating and completing safe work procedures, hazard assessments, safety inspections, focus audits, and incident investigations.
  • Verify compliance with leading and lagging indicators, including subcontractors, and identify corrective actions.
  • Develop and enhance Job Hazard Analysis and Safe Work Practice documents based on existing materials.
  • Conduct HS&E Orientation to employees and subcontractors during project onboarding.
  • Support the coordination, organization, and delivery of project toolbox talks and safety meetings.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years' experience in Industrial construction or related industry with relevant health and safety experience.
  • In-depth understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with an aptitude for learning various computer software systems.
  • Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders across all levels of project hierarchy, fostering cooperation and compliance with HS&E standards.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol testing requirements.

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this role is $85,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience. This figure takes into account the location, industry standards, and the company's commitment to attracting top talent.
