**A Day in the Life of a Health & Safety Manager at RWC**
Be part of designing your community From the bustling downtown core all the way to Northern British Columbia you will be involved with championing safety at all our construction sites. Our previous and current locations include Amazon HQ, YVR Airport, University of British Columbia, Parq Casino, New St. Paul’s Hospital and much more We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager with a “roll up the sleeves” attitude who will champion safety and liaise between RWC and General Contractors.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Champion the company Health and Safety Program.
- Work closely with Site Superintendents, CSO’s and General Contractors in spearheading safe work procedures and practices.
- Create, evaluate, revise, and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure that these programs are in compliance with WorkSafeBC, COR, and Client requirements.
- Promote standardized and consistent job site safety culture across all RWC sites. Foster a strong safety culture within the company by promoting awareness and commitment to safety at all levels.
- Promote and perform routine site safety inspections. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and job site inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for their mitigation. Ensure that employees are aware of and follow safety guidelines.
- Promote and manage safety training, orientations, and educational programs for all employees as they are capable and recommend training for additional competencies.
- Spearhead WorkSafeBC related tasks such as injury management and return to work programs.
- Review and report on monthly safety analytics and metrics. Compile and analyze safety data, and regularly report safety performance to management, recommending improvements as needed.
- Monitor health, safety & environment compliance of employees and sub-contractors. Ensure that subcontractors and other third parties working with the company adhere to safety standards and protocols.
- Investigate and analyze workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Ensure the investigations meet WSBC and client requirements.
- Develop, communicate and facilitate weekly to monthly Health & Safety Meetings and toolbox talks. Guide and direct the Joint Health and Safety Committee.
- Champion the annual COR audit certification.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including first-aid procedures, fire safety, and evacuation plans.
- Support and coordinate the delivery of continuous improvement and the optimization of safety practices.
- Stay current with all relevant safety regulations and standards and ensure the company's compliance with them.
- Travel upwards to 20% within various provinces and rural communities (2 times per quarter).
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Required minimum 5 years experience working in a Safety or Human Resources related position.
- Required degree or certificate in Safety, Human Resources or a related field.
- Required drivers license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Previous construction experience considered an asset.
- Previous experience with COR Audits considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of WorkSafeBC regulations, policies, guidelines, and standards.
- Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organization, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Travel upwards to 20% within various provinces and rural communities (2 times per quarter).
