**HERE IS A BIT MORE ABOUT THE JOB**:
The Production assistant oversees the daily activities and tasks for the production line. They will receive daily guidelines from the production coordinator to put into action with the teams on the production floor. This person ensures the follow up of equipment and machine maintenance.

This person must have great leadership skills and a sense of resourcefulness.

**TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- **Schedule and weekly quotas for production **_**Preparation and cutting schedule**
- Follow the cutting schedule according to products and patterns for sales needs
- Make sure all fabrics are cut and ready for production
- Ensure that the staff is trained and aware of cutting standards for the weekly tasks Hourly bin checks are done to review the quality of the work performed

**Production and sewing schedule**
- Meet the daily quotas based on weekly goal
- Being available when required to be part of the production line
- Speaking to supervisor to discuss operations and placing the right people in the right seats to meet quotas, and establishing the daily plan with available labour force
- Guarantee that standards of sewing are followed (MINI TIPI way)

**Ensure product quality control**
- Regularly check the quality of the work performed until the trainee is fully trained
- Keep track and document the percentage of repairs in finished products
- Overview the process of finished product; final check and folding and getting store ready
- Keeps track of all items produced in sewing room and folded and ready to go for inventory

**Open and close of the production department**
- Make sure to open / turn off work equipment -Open / close the lights

**Calculate the cost of sewing of the different products**
- Be aware of sewing quotas to track labour cost and sewing margins
- **Production needs and equipment maintenance **_**Ensure a safe and secure workspace**
- Always know and respect the established health and safety rules of the CNESST
- Make sure these rules are put into place and used in the department
- Establish specific safety rules to our field and ensure compliance by all members of your team
- Determine material (or other) requirements to ensure the safety of all

**Machine maintenance and repairs**
- Develop troubleshooting process in case of machine breakdown
- Notify supervisor to out minor repairs in the event of a mechanical failure
- Follow maintenance calendar and be aware the basic maintenance for some of the machines
- Contact a specialist for the maintenance of industrial machinery when required
- Keep a machine logbook with all maintenance done, cost, dates and warranties policies for all machines

**Maintain sewing inventory and supplies**
- Have an up to date of the various products produced
- Maintain the inventory of the sewing supply required and place order when necessary

**Any other tasks required or responsibilities to help the department reach their goals**

**Salary**: $19.50-$25.64 per hour
