**Position Summary**:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of the plant operations and unionized employees. This position ensures that health and safety, environmental, production and quality rules and standards are being followed.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Lead and support employees in a manufacturing and unionized environment;
- Ensure good production practices as well as compliance with occupational health and safety and environmental standards;
- Participate in the planning and control of the production cycle to meet the growing needs of our customers;
- Ensure order quality and that deliveries to our customers and other plants are in a timely manner;
- Ensure that physical inventory remain up to date at all times and maintains inventory transactions;
- Responsible for month-end inventory for chemicals, wood and supplies;
- Validate and approve employees' daily hours worked and vacation time through the payroll system ;
- Supervise all areas of the plant including the operations of shipping and receiving, the yard, the debarker, the dryers and the treatment plant;
- Oversee the management of the garage, heavy equipment maintenance and the preventive maintenance program of the mill;
- Assist in identifying and conducting training for employees;
- Communicate daily priorities and objectives to employees;
- Communicate daily results, inventory levels and priorities to the Plant Manager;
- Work in collaboration with the Plant Manager on the completion of projects, irregular situations and continuous improvement of the site;
- Act as a change agent in the improvement of health and safety, environment and productivity;
- Actively participate in maintaining, improving and enforcing our quality system (ISO);
- Actively participate in maintaining, improving and respecting our environmental standards (TRD) program;
- Follow up and purchase supplies needed for operations/production;
- Replace the Plant Manager when absent or on vacation;
- Help respond to plant emergencies on the front line on all shifts (day/evening/night/weekend);
- Perform all other tasks required in the managerial role.

**Key competencies**:

- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills;
- Problem solving, prioritization and conflict management skills;
- Knowledge of and compliance with applicable health and safety and environmental standards;
- Ability to train, motivate and coach employees;
- Time and stress management;
- Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and Blue Bee system);
- Knowledge of SAP (asset).

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience

**Education**:

- High school diploma
- Studies in production, processing or management (asset)

**Certification**:

- WHMIS training (asset)
- Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training

**Languages**:

- Fluency in spoken and written French

In addition to a knowledge of the French language, this role requires English as a result of the duties to be performed.
