MINI TIPI is a Canadian lifestyle brand that operates and manufactures its products locally in Gatineau, Quebec. With the purpose of addressing the lack of authentic Indigenous designed têxtiles. MINI TIPI collaborates with Indigenous artists to develop authentic exclusive designs to ensure proper representation in the industry. All our products are designed, cut and sewn in Quebec, Canada.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
**Production and sewing schedule**
- Follow the coordinators plan
- Meet the daily quotas based on weekly goal
- Provide work to operators to achieve daily production goal
- Managing time to be proactive with the workflow
- Hourly bin checks to review the quality and make sure it meets the company standards
- Being available when required to be part of the production line for cutting or sewing
- Speaking to supervisor to discuss operations and placing the right people in the right seats to meet quotas, and establishing the daily plan with available labour force
- Guarantee that standards of sewing are followed (MINI TIPI way)

**Ensure product quality control**
- Identify product errors from fabric to finish product
- Regularly check the quality of the work performed until the trainee is fully trained
- Keep track and document the percentage of repairs in finished products
- Overview the process of finished product; final check and folding and getting store ready.
- Keeps track of all items produced in sewing room and folded and ready to go for inventory

**Open and close of the production department**
- Make sure to open / turn off work equipment
- Open / close the lights

**Production Process**
- Following the process in place to meet quotas for each operation

**Ensure a safe and secure workspace**
- Always know and respect the established health and safety rules of the CNESST
- Make sure these rules are put into place and used in the department
- Establish specific safety rules to our field and ensure compliance by all members of your team
- Determine material (or other) requirements to ensure the safety of all
- Keep environment clean and organized

**Machine maintenance and repairs**
- Develop troubleshooting process in case of machine breakdown
- Notify supervisor of minor repairs in the event of a mechanical failure
- Follow maintenance calendar and be aware the basic maintenance for some of the machines
- Keep a machine logbook with all maintenance done, dates and warranties policies for all machines

**Maintain sewing inventory and supplies**
- Have an up-to-date of the various products produced
- Maintain the inventory of the sewing supply required and place order when necessary
- Communicate with the Supervisor or Admin when supplies need to be re-ordered

**Any other tasks required or responsibilities to help the department reach their goals**

QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Excellent knowledge of sewing techniques and industrial sewing machines
- Understanding of the process of a production line is an asset
- Ability to communicate orally in French and English
- Ability to lead and assist a team of seamstress to achieve product quotas
- Attention to detail and respect of quality and standards are a must
- Capacity to find solutions and problem solve quickly
- Excellent interpersonal skills, enjoys teamwork and collaboration
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Extremely organized and detail-oriented

Pay: $20.22-$26.38 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
