Verv is a growing biomedical tech company based in beautiful Sudbury, Ontario focused on creating the first of its kind consumer-oriented, affordable, high-quality blood chemistry analyzer with disposable tests for home use, that will help individuals measure a wide range of analytes (i.e., cholesterol, vitamin levels, hormones). We aim to empower consumers, help them take control of their own health, transform access to blood testing, and improve timely decision-making between consumers and their healthcare providers.

**Position: R&D Lead - Blood Test Assays**

This role requires experienced Biochemist with electrochemical (EC) detection methods and leading test assay development cycles. EC experience is essential and you are knowledgeable in test development for commercial readiness for IVDDs. You are a scientist but also a collaborator and team leader, able to ensure the company hits assay development and translation targets within tight timeframes.

**Essential Requirements and Experience**:

- You will have a PhD in chemistry or closely related area, and have experience creating assays in the IVD industry
- Experience designing, testing, validating and reporting on reagents and formulations from first principles that work on EC and digital microfluidic platforms i.e. electrochemical assay methods and associated competency with laboratory test apparatus that use potentiostats, chrononamp, cyclic voltammetry methods and using a deposition printer
- Immunoassays/ ELISA, hormone assay development and antibody conjugation experience
- Experience in Digital Microfluidics (DMF)
- Experience of statistical analysis on data
- Experience in reagent chemistry as applied in IVD products with emphasis on dry surface chemistry modification and analysis
- Develop and conduct programs of analysis to ensure quality control of raw materials, intermediates or final products
- Experience working with teams to produce defined outcomes in a timely and efficient manner
- Great collaborator, who can lead and participate in interdisciplinary research and development projects working with biomedical engineers, biologists, or other professionals working to ensure assays achieve desired results
- IVD product development and validation through to commercialization, design control lifecycle, working to relevant industry standards such as ISO13485 and 21 CFR Part 820, familiarity with product and process validation, protocol design for product validation, understanding of Design for Manufacture (DFM) methodology

Compensation:
TBD based on experience. Competitive comp package with stock option potential.
