Penta Search Group has been retained by a global medical device manufacturer to identify a Director of Engineering to be based in their R&D and Manufacturing facility in Burnaby, BC.Overseeing a team of Engineers, you will play an integral part in leading research and development efforts for the business. You will:Develop and implement R&D strategies Lead support for multiple R&D projects Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, such as FDA regulations and ISO requirementsFoster a culture of innovation within the R&D teamCollaborate with other departments, including regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing, and marketingIdentify and mitigate technical, regulatory, and business risks associated with R&D projectsRequirements:Degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) preferred.8+ years in R&D leadership roles within the medical device industry either in an Engineering role or Quality (with an engineering background)Knowledge of medical device regulations and quality standards Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results on schedule and within budget.Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams *Support is available for candidates needing to relocate to British Columbia*
