Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Engineering Supervisor for our R&D Engineering department to drive the development and sustainability of our innovative Med Tech product portfolio. The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers through all phases of product design, from initial concept to commercialization, while collaborating with cross-functional leaders.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in R&D projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from conceptualization to commercialization.
  • Plan and manage complex technical projects, leveraging advanced engineering knowledge and stakeholder input.
  • Implement state-of-the-art technologies to achieve optimal product design solutions.
  • Guide the creation of concepts and prototypes, selecting the best options for Design Freeze.
  • Train and mentor engineers in developing plans and tests for design verification and validation.
  • Drive the development of intellectual property within the company.
  • Provide technical leadership and project-level guidance to junior engineering staff.
  • Lead Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities.
  • Support and lead R&D sustaining projects on commercial production lines.
  • Track deliverables from internal and external teams to meet product design change requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Management System requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 7+ years of engineering experience.
  • 5 years of experience in the medical device industry.
  • At least 1 year of experience in people management, including supervising direct reports or leading technical experts, with a proven ability to foster team growth.
  • Knowledge of design requirements as per 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485.
  • Understanding of risk management as per ISO 14971.
  • Experience with drafting and reviewing Design History Files (DHF) and Device Master Records (DMR).
  • Proven ability to lead a team through rapid design iteration and make design recommendations.
  • Strong ability to develop and adapt work plans based on evolving project goals and ensure team alignment.
  • Proficient in hypothesis-driven experimental design and statistical analysis.
  • Demonstrated creative engineering design skills.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and within a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong interest in biomedical technology.
  • Dynamic and flexible with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience with the development of medical devices (catheters, sheaths, guidewires, dilators, balloon catheters) is essential.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of managing direct reports and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and developing engineers.
