**Academic Integrity Strategist**:
**Primary Purpose**: Teaching and Learning Enhancement contributes to setting the standard for learning (**University Plan 2025**) and improving student experiences through leadership and contribution to major cross institutional strategic initiatives like **experiential learning**, flexible learning, **sustainability in teaching and learning**, **academic integrity**, **teaching evaluation**, equity diversity and inclusion (advancing USask’s **policy** and framework), decolonization and Indigenization (contributing meaningfully to advance **ohpahotân | oohpaahotaan**) and provides specific initiatives and services for and with colleges, schools, departments, instructors and students through specialist units (Access and Equity Services, Career Services, Gwenna Moss Center for Teaching and Learning, Distance Education Unit, Teaching and Learning Enhancement Office).

As Academic Integrity Strategist the main responsibility of the role is to enact the two-year strategic implementation plan presented by the **Academic Integrity Task Force** demonstrably advancing expansion and deepening of a culture of academic integrity in teaching and learning at the University of Saskatchewan.

**Nature of Work**: Reporting to the Senior Director, Teaching and Learning Enhancement, this temporary and strategic position will be focused on development of the organizational model for academic integrity that will become ongoing and supported (financially and strategically). The individual will build collaborative and coordinated practices and strategies that can be sustained and invested in going forward once the two-year term is complete. The role does not contribute to ongoing operations in academic misconduct processes and is not focused on provision of academic integrity supports.

**Accountabilities**:
**(1) **Capacity building**:

- Establish committee structure that meets to share information and best practice and advise on emerging needs
- Support academic units in development of consistent local practices and instruction that matches their disciplinary contexts
- Advise and contribute to expanded awareness and skill-building campaigns lead by Library, academic units, and student unions, associations, and groups.
- Develop the organizational model for ongoing academic integrity services, coordination, and leadership that is informed by investments and impacts observed at peer institutions

**(2) **Systems improvement**:

- Research educative responses and restorative sanctions to confirmed and suspected academic misconduct
- Research case management processes and tracking approaches that meet requirements for confidentiality and procedural fairness
- Contribute to leading and advancing initiatives at governance and college levels to update regulations, procedures, guidance and information related to cases of academic misconduct

**(3) **Implement strategic approaches in collaboration with others**:

- Pilot new and more specialized professional learning, workshops and resources for assessment design, in collaboration with GMCTL
- Undertake needs assessment and associated research with respect to academic integrity that serves institutional needs and informs institutional and college-level strategies, working with units such as the GMCTL, IPA, Library, School for SoTL, and Colleges.
- Seek out opportunities to raise the profile of the University of Saskatchewan as an institution with a culture for academic integrity

**(4) **Personal and professional development**
- Actively engage in professional development and reflection
- Research and keep informed regarding innovations, trends, and professional development opportunities related to academic integrity
- Other duties as assigned.

In each of these accountabilities, it is expected that the Academic Integrity Strategist will:

- take action for Indigenous rights, and for truth and reconciliation
- take action against racism, oppression; and harassment and discrimination

**Education**: Graduate degree in a related field required or equivalent education and experience. A PhD would be an asset.

**Skills**
- Able to navigate organizational and teaching and learning implications of academic integrity and academic misconduct with a range of stakeholders and partners, including faculty, instructors, students, administrators, policy and governance bodies.
- Proven capacity for strategic thinking for change management and culture change initiatives in PSE contexts
- Ability to effectively collaborate with academic leaders, faculty and administrators in higher education to develop and achieve shared goals, and manage many competing goals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and a high level of optimism, energy, and empathy
- Mastery of teaching and learning planning processes, including for academic integrity
- Expertise in excellent pedagogy and design of assessment for academic integrity
