**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, Communications, and Events, the Events Manager is tasked with meticulously planning and executing a variety of events for Transat Distribution Canada (TDC). These events encompass conferences, seminars, functions, and incentive trips, all of which have a significant influence across various TDC sectors. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and cost-efficiency of these events, closely managing budgetary and scheduling considerations. Their responsibilities extend to event planning, design, execution, promotion, comprehensive coordination, and financial viability, all while fostering collaboration with diverse sectors within TDC.
- Liaise with internal clients to find out their exact event requirements;
- Produce detailed proposals for events (including timelines, venues, suppliers, legal obligations, staffing and budgets);
- Source, visit and negotiate venues, and secure suppliers with vendors and contractors;
- Collaborate with the stakeholders and manage all content through the TDC Events Sharepoint Intranet;
- Collaborate closely with the Communications advisor on events communication plans and content as well as promotional activities to promote events and increase participation;
- Generate ideas and concepts in collaboration with the team and propose ideas and tactics to enhance events and the level of success;
- Plan event, manage details, and approve all aspects of events from start to finish according to requirements, target audience and objectives;
- Work within designated budget and collaborate with the Products & Industry Relations team to create opportunities to optimize sponsorships of events obtained by partners;
- Coordinate all operations related to each event, with the help of colleagues, external resources, and supplier staffing (DJs, entertainers, waiters, AV staff, etc.);
- During events, coordinate suppliers, partners and attendee queries and troubleshoot to ensure that all runs smoothly and to budget;
- Ensure event is completed smoothly and step up to resolve any problems that might occur;
- Analyze the event’s success and prepare reports;
- Ensure insurance, legal, health and safety obligations are met and followed;
- Supervise and contribute to the dismantling of events;
- Produce post-event evaluations, attendee surveys and conduct debrief with the team.

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple events and tasks simultaneously
- Bilingual French and English spoken and written;
- Proven experience as event manager;
- Skilled in project management;
- Creative and able to propose innovative ideas and solutions;
- Knowledge of KPIs in event management;
- Proficient in Microsoft 365, especially SharePoint;
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to solve problems and quickly find alternatives;
- Strong work ethic and professional customer-focused approach;
- A team player with leadership skills;
- Very organized and can manage priorities;
- Rigorous and detail oriented;
- Degree in PR, marketing, hospitality management or related field is preferred.
