As Manager, Management Advisory, you will help the Business Expertise and Performance Division reach the strategic objectives of Desjardins Capital (DC) for positioning, risk management and protection of the value of investments for files in recovery or insolvency.

Working with the Associate Vice-President, Management Advisory, you will ensure execution of operational mandates with which you have been entrusted subsequent to strategic orientations and targeted business results, primarily through support to businesses, the Management Advisory team and investment professionals, for files showing evidence of deterioration and/or mismanagement, or evidence of significant financial difficulties.

General Information on the Position

Main responsibilities- Ensure the Management Advisory team's objectives are achieved, including protection of securities invested in problem companies and realignment of business strategies with the intention of generating adequate return on investment- Maintain a relevant network of contacts (external business managers and professionals) who could be called upon to collaborate closely with DC in protecting securities invested in problem companies- Participate in defining and carrying out, in conjunction with company officers, external participants and investment managers, as applicable, plans to improve problem companies' financial situations and to protect the securities invested by DC (through its funds under management), in keeping the mission of said funds- Carry out reinvestments and divestitures in files under management, as appropriate and within the internal decision-making process and framework in force; coordinate internal and external participants as required-
- Recommend orientations, strategies, policies, practices and innovative tools in order to sustain and improve resources' operational efficiency and expertise within the context of files in recovery or insolvency- Participate in the implementation of orientations within the Business Expertise and Performance Division, and specifically those relevant to the Management Advisory team- Ensure quality, and coordinate and communicate all information regarding the financial monitoring of high-risk companies- Train and coach investment managers in this position's fields of expertise (recovery, insolvency, prevention, management and forecasting tools, definition of a specific action plan, etc.)- Work closely with, influence and build trust with the investment team, other internal DC teams, clients and stakeholders- Support the Associate Vice-President, Management Advisory in managing priorities and strategic projects, and in developing, coordinating and carrying out an annual action plan and medium-term development plan for the Management Advisory team.

**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, commerce, business administration or in a related field- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, including 3 years in business recovery and insolvency- Experience in private investments, operational activities and mergers and acquisitions- Experience on a board of directors and in portfolio management in an SME context- Experience in entrepreneuriat

Specific knowledge- Knowledge of financial transactions related to equity, quasi-equity, traditional and alternative financing- Strong financial and operational knowledge and sound investment judgment- Upper intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with (language)-speaking partners, members and/or clients
