Unifor has a permanent opportunity as a Bilingual Dues Coordinator in our Accounting department. This role provides support to the Ottawa office in processing monthly unit dues. To succeed, you must be highly organized and detail oriented.

**Duties and responsibilities guidelines include but not limited to**:

- Process dues received by locals or employers, this includes the following:
Validate dues rate applied,

Verify back-up list provided to ensure remittance corresponds to payment received,

Test individual deductions to ensure National portion is properly remitted,

Enter dues in Unionware program to allocate dues in various funds and validate fund participation with dues report,

Validate membership information,

Calculate total dues remitted by unit for multi-unit locals,

Prepare cheque requests to refund any overpayments.
- Send employer remitted locals copies of all the back-up received with their local portion of dues,
- Follow-up on receivable dues with locals and employers,
- Validate wage increase for each unit on a yearly basis and request new collective agreements when they are expired,
- Provide explanations on dues not received for membership reports,
- Provide help with dues revenue reconciliation when dues processed does not match cheque received,
- Provide auditors with back-up of dues processed for testing.

**Position Requirements**:

- Bilingual in French and English (both written and oral);
- Familiar with computer software, particularly ACCPAC, Excel and Word;
- Ability to work within deadlines;
- Ability to organize and coordinate his/her work schedule;
- Proven knowledge of accounting practices;
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills;
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision;
- Flexibility on job assignments and the ability to work well with others.
