The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has an opening for a temporary full-time Project Coordinator, ITT in the Information Technology & Transformation division. This temporary full-time opportunity is for a period up to December 2025.

Job description

The Project Coordinator (ITT) will contribute to business transformation within the Municipality by supporting the project delivery team and in the planning and execution of small to medium size projects through: creating clear and attainable project objectives, building the project requirements, sourcing and acquiring or building solutions that meet the requirements and executing the implementation of the solution in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Essential responsibilities

Demonstrate Chatham-Kent’s core values and competencies

Lead small to medium size ITT initiatives as assigned by gathering detailed requirements, monitoring progress, and deliver the project's planned outcomes, paying attention to the project budget

Provide support for monthly ITT Project and Intake Meetings

Assist with the management and administering conditional grants or funding opportunities

Facilitate and report on risk and security assessments for assigned projects/initiatives

Track, resolve and escalate (as appropriate) issues and risks

Vendor management, as it relates to the partnering with consultants to execute projects

Responsible for forming strong working relationship with all parties and for ensuring the project meets strict timelines and milestones

Foster team work through effective leadership

Essential qualifications

College diploma or university degree (preferably in a computer science or business program with a focus on business process re-engineering), plus six (6) months to two (2) years related experience

Experience managing small to mid size projects, preferably in a municipal environment

Knowledge of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Personal Health Information (PHI) data security standards

Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles and cyber threats/vulnerabilities

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal

Strong time management and organizational skills

Working knowledge of Wrike or other project management software

Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) (or similar software program)

Certifications, memberships, licenses

Working towards Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification required

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation version 3 or 4 certified (or to be achieved within 1 year of hire)

Work environment/hours of work

This position works indoors

This position works weekday hours with occasional evening and weekend hours

Municipality of Chatham-Kent COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent no longer requires a COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of employment. Although it is not mandatory to be vaccinated, it is highly encouraged.

Driver’s licence/vehicle requirements

Because this position may be required to travel, a valid Province of Ontario driver's license with a reliable motor vehicle is preferred.

**Sitting**: constant sitting in a chair (sitting at desk or table during meeting, in vehicle seat as required when attending meetings at other municipal locations)

**Hands**: frequent fine finger dexterity (movement), mousing (keyboard and mousing majority of shift)

**Walking**: frequent walking on level surface
