**McGowan Electric **is an electrical contractor based in east Ottawa offering commercial electrical services to Ottawa for over 29 years. Our customers know us for our quality service and our employees for our supportive "work family" culture. Our company is proudly represented by 5 office staff and over 25 field electricians.

We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper / administrative assistant who can follow through on the details and multi-task to ensure everything in the office gets done.

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the bookkeeper is responsible for:

- daily bookkeeping and data entry, such as job setup, ap/ar invoices, credit card receipts, work orders and purchase orders;
- deposits, collections and payments;
- office administration (supplies, scheduling cleaning, receive deliveries, reception)
- HR support, such as timesheet review, mandatory worker training certificates, employee reminders and communications, new employee onboarding (field and office workers);
- project manager support, such as job cost reporting, estimates and pre-qualifications, job safety binders;
- ad hoc support and reports to the management team.

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications:

- over 5 years work experience as a bookkeeper; and
- completion of a college program in accounting, bookkeeping or a related field; or,
- completion of two years (first level) of a recognized professional accounting program; or,
- courses in accounting or bookkeeping combined with several years experience as a bookkeeper.

**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
