Medical Office Assistant/receptionist

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments for physicians and nurses, both in-person and over the phone
- Answer phone calls and triage, book, or advise patient as appropriate, route calls to appropriate staff members, and take messages as needed
- Recall patients as requested by the physicians
- Collect and update patient information/demographics in the electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Review and distribute incoming e-faxes
- Receive forms from patients and direct to nurse or physician as appropriate
- Receive, record, and issue payment receipts for uninsured services
- Direct patients to exam rooms
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling patient information
- Assist with medical records management, including filing, scanning, and organizing documents
- Chaperone physicians as appropriate
- Keep the reception area clean and organized
- Prepare and clean exam rooms
- Clean procedure room after minor surgeries
- Stock exam rooms

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge of EMR is compulsory, knowledge of MedAccess is an added benefit
- Strong knowledge of office procedures and basic medical terminology
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in using phone systems and handling high call volumes
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

**Job Type**: Part-time

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
