Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post-secondary education in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Policy, Human Resources, Indigenous Studies or a related discipline. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Experience developing, implementing and evaluating programs, including implementing communication strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and achieve results.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action.
- Experience conducting research and analysis with the ability to identify issues and strategic solutions in support of organizational needs.
- Verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate information to a variety of audiences including for senior leadership.
- Written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate information to a variety of audiences including for senior leadership.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to exercise political acumen, develop and maintain positive working relationships and inspire change.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and exercise excellent judgement in decision-making.
- Experience building relationships with Indigenous communities.

**Duties**:

- The Indigenous Strategic Initiatives Consultant is responsible for developing and leading a strategic workforce plan to retain and develop Indigenous talent, including for leadership roles in Manitoba’s Public Service. This will involve reviewing existing policies, programs and services, as well as relationship building and engagement with Indigenous public servants, and Indigenous communities and organizations to support the development, coordination and implementation of new initiatives as part of the strategic plan._
