**_Role Impact:_**

The Payroll Advisor is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and administration of the Company’s in house bi-weekly payroll in accordance with government regulations. This position will also provide sound advice and support to both the administrators and managers across the company on payroll related questions.

**_ What you will deliver:_**
- Responsible for the day-to-day activities of the payroll function for approximately 700 employees in designated groups across Canada. Duties include but not limited to HRIS input such as processing new hires, changes and termination in a timely and accurate manner, verifying and ensuring accuracy of approved timesheets and the calculation of special payments such as severance, vacation payout, etc.
- Analyze all data for accuracy to ensure that appropriate processing procedures are followed, in order to ensure employees are paid on an accurate and timely basis within corporate and legislative guidelines.
- Process the Company’s bi-weekly payroll. This includes creating batches for all pay groups, reviewing and approving unauthorized time cards, importing other payroll activity files (i.e. time card, rewards taxable benefits, expense reimbursements, one time payments, etc), validating the imported time, recalculating pay, creating and sending the EFT file, posting and closing payroll and running the G/L upload for accounting. Prepare the wire transfers for the Treasury department, tracking exceptions and future dated payments.
- Create individual ROEs for termination and leave of absence employees and upload to Service Canada.
- Ensure that the corporate payroll is in compliance with all government regulations with respect to statutory/provincial requirements such as, but not limited to, Income Tax, CPP/QPP, EI/QPIP, WSIB, EHT, MSP (BC) and Manitoba levy.
- Partner with HR Systems Analyst to ensure the technical system requirements are programmed accordingly and in good standing.
- Keep abreast of legislative provincial changes across Canada.
- Assist Payroll Specialist in payroll reconciliation and completion of all year-end corporate and employee processes by ensuring all required federal and provincial authorities for regulatory and compliance purposes are balanced and filed. This will include making year
- end adjustments, assisting with the balancing and distributing of T4s, and Releves.
- Support all level of employees to provide sound payroll advice, guidance and support in answering any payroll related inquiries and ensure all issues are addressed promptly and accurately.
- Responsible for preparing cheque requisitions for various monthly remittances and WCB premium payments.

- Conscientious and trustworthy with the demonstrated ability to be discreet and tactful due to the confidential nature of the information being handled.
- Knowledge on Quebec payroll is an asset.

**_What you need to succeed:_**
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a computerized payroll environment.
- Experience/Familiarity working with UKG Pro payroll system is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in a business program.
- Working towards a PCP or CPM certification an asset.
- Strong computer skills using MS office with Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Experience using automated payroll and HR systems
