**Company Background**

Opiikapawiin Services LP (“OSLP”) was established by a partnership of 24 First Nations in northwestern

Ontario. The 24 First Nations partnership is also majority owner in Wataynikaneyap Power, a transmission company building 1800km of new transmission line to connect remote First Nations to the provincial grid.

Opiikapawiin is primarily responsible for administering projects and programs for Wataynikaneyap Power relating to community engagement, community readiness, education & training, business readiness, stakeholder engagement, communications, and capacity building. Opiikapawiin will also support the First

Nations partnership in the management of its investment in Wataynikaneyap, which includes raising equity for the First Nations interest in the transmission project.

The Executive Assistant is a full time, term contract who will be responsible for administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the CEO office as well as providing support to the Managers. Working in a fast-paced environment, the Executive Assistant will also help organize and manage work flow, scheduling, arrange meetings,travel, and take minutes. They will act in a professional manner at all times when dealing with Opiikapawiin matters. The Executive Assistant reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Opiikapawiin

**Duties and Responsibilities**

Executive Assistant primary responsibilities will be the following:
**Manage aspects of CEO office.**

Develop briefing notes, speaking notes and other communication materials for CEO; assist in developing office workplans for improved workflow; direct phone calls using a professional courteous manner; reply to general information requests with accurate information; prioritize meetings and action items.

**Complete administrative tasks**:
Assisting with special projects; producing documents, reports and presentations in a professional manner and according to specifications; organize meetings and taking minutes by preparing information for staff and other parties; ensure meeting logistics and preparations are according to plans.

**Provide support with Governance;**

Assist with preparing the agenda for various meetings, prepare and deliver detailed minutes and action items in a timely manner, present minutes and changes to the Board of Directors and Shareholders, work with team to coordinate governance requirements.

**Work closely with CEO and management team**:
Report regularly to the CEO and managers on the operations and outcomes of special projects and assignments; prepare briefing notes for management team, assist with the development of forms for use by the CEO; monitor and control CEO expenditures to ensure compliance; ensure all reporting is completed.

Other projects/duties as assigned for the overall benefit of the organization.

**Experience/Qualifications**

**Education & Experience**:

- Completion of education in the field of office/business administration or a Business, Marketing, Human

Resources, Communications, plus a minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of office/business administration, office management, business, computers or a related field.

**Qualifications**:

- Able to maintain a high level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking ability
- Ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with little or no guidance
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong understanding of Indigenous culture in Northwestern Ontario and protocols
- Experience working in First Nation communities and with Indigenous peoples
- Knowledge of the economic, social, and political environment of Northwestern Ontario and/or experience with remote community realities
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English; the ability to communicate verbally in the Indigenous languages spoken in Northwestern Ontario is not required but considered an asset
- Valid Class G Driver’s license

The expected Start Date for the Executive Assistant will be February 2023.

The Executive Assistant will work Monday to Friday within normal business hours.

**Compensation**
