As the VP of People & Culture, you will be an integral part of the Senior Leadership Team at Zensurance owning the strategy, design, execution and operations of the key elements that support our people and make working at Zensurance a fantastic experience.
- Reporting to our COO, you will oversee the areas of HR, Talent Acquisition (TA), Learning & Development (L&D), Payroll, Office Services and Culture.

Your key goals will be to:

- Define the **strategy and priorities **for this function.
- Effectively and efficiently **run the day-to-day operations **of these functions while **continuing to evolve **them as our needs change as a company.
- Successfully **deliver key strategic projects **in these areas (e.g., the launch of a new HRIS platform; implementation of semi-annual evaluations; defining and launching our EVP; furthering our Talent Acquisition analytics; overseeing new L&D programs and strategy).
- Become a **strategic partner to the rest of our leadership team **to support them in their areas, and further our HR team’s **capabilities as HRBPs **in being helpful partners to our people managers as well as a confidential, supportive empathetic, and approachable contact for all of our employees.
- **Champion and facilitate the evolution of our Culture and Employee Engagement in a remote-first environment**. Partner with the rest of our leadership team and broadly across the company to determine how to continue to support and improve morale, connectivity, retention, high performance, belief and adherence to our values.
- **Lead, coach, and inspire our People & Culture **teams to create a high-performing environment.
- Ensure **fairness and equity **for our employees.
- Support and further our **DE&I aspirations.**

You will be successful in this role by being able to bring:
**Technical expertise **in HR, Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Employment Law &, ESAs of different provinces.

**Strategic leadership **to create a vision for this function which is cohesive with business objectives.

**Business acumen **bringing critical thinking, prioritization, pragmatism, and change management expertise.
- Ability to develop, and
**champion Culture and Employee Engagement. Experience working with fast-growing companies **that integrate tech, sales, and operations talent in a remote-first environment.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary degree in human resources, business, or related programs.
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation or working towards it or equivalent human resources designation would be an asset.
- 10+ years of related work experience and technical knowledge building across human resources, talent acquisition, payroll, learning & development, and employee engagement.
- 5+ years of experience in a Leadership position in this function setting or influencing strategy and building teams.
- Proven experience coaching people managers, defining priorities, inspiring others, influencing, driving change and delivering impact.
- Excellent skills across critical thinking, problem solving, analytics, communications, and relationship building.
- Ability to cultivate relationships with internal and external stakeholders and create partnerships at all levels within the organization to achieve goals.
- A passion for creating and fostering a people focused culture. (An empathetic and engaging leader who listens and responds proactively to foster people-centric culture while remaining solutions-focused and results-oriented, adhering to the business vision).
- Well versed in Canadian & Provincial employment laws, the employment standards act and employment legislation.
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) software, Application Tracking Software (ATS), Google Workspace, Zoom, Google Forms, and Slack, or similar office tools.
- Commitment and excitement to be a key leader in a fast-growing company, with an evolving and complex environment.
