Position Overview:
- The Project Manager (PM) for Customer Service is one of two PM roles that will provide expert project management support on multiple, overlapping projects related to one of the most exciting customer service transformations the City has ever undertaken - the development of the new City Hall Service Centre.***
- Responsibilities:
- Leads project planning, management and technology implementation related to the City Hall Service Centre project, and other Corporate Customer Service initiatives.
- Oversees projects through all project management phases (initiation, planning, implementation, and closure).
- Develops and executes detailed project plans to define project requirements, including scope of work, roles, responsibilities, timeline, budget, decision making matrix, change requests and quality assurance to be approved by the Project Sponsor (Corporate Leadership Team - CLT) and project champion (Director). Maintains project plan throughout the life cycle of the project.
- Tracks and manages the project budget and timelines.
- Establishes and leads multiple cross-functional project teams comprised of staff experts from other business functions.
- Ensures projects are implemented using industry standard project management principles and procedures.
- Provides regular progress reports to the Project Team, (internal and external stakeholders and consultants), against the approved project timeline and budget and makes recommendations to the Project Champion when changes are required to stay on time and on budget.
- Deals with complex and diverse issues daily and communicates with various levels contacts including GMs/CLT and directors and management from each impacted service area.
- Anticipates and addresses problems that could result in delays, increased costs. Identifies and mitigates potential project constraints.
- Supports Project Sponsor in presenting project updates and detailed project plans to City Council and makes presentations to CLT, the architect, the Project Committee and Staff Project Committee as needed.
- Plans, prioritizes, and delegates work to project team members.
- Provides guidance and support to project teams.
- Continuously ensures the quality of work being performed throughout the project is cognizant of all project variables including the dependencies between project activities.
- Co-ordinates timely production of all necessary project reports and documents for key stakeholders including: CLT, Council, external stakeholders.
- Makes presentations to key stakeholders including project team, staff steering committee, or CLT.
- Works with confidential information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
- Must have a minimum 3-year Degree or Diploma in a related.
- Must have a minimum of 2-4 years’ work experience in a field related to Project Management.
- Must have the ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge and working familiarity with project management theory, principles, and practices.
- Must have demonstrated computer skills.
- Must be reliable with a good attitude and employment record.
