Assistant Manager

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Ensure the Snack Bar is fully operational in terms of both quality and adequate staffing to service guests.
- Continually interacts with team members to motivate and encourage them in the daily performance of their duties.
- Conduct pre and post shift meetings with team members.
- Assist team members in reconciling end of shift cash reports.
- Actively participate in recruiting, hiring and training of new team members.
- Provides department specific Orientation training to new Snack Bar Team Members.
- Assist the Snack Bar Manager with the creation of team member work schedules, daily payroll of department, the monitoring of labour costs and maintaining staffing levels in accordance to business.
- Has knowledge of Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and ensures compliance including but not limited to rest and eating periods by ensuring employees receive breaks and are rotated accordingly.
- Performs personnel procedures including but not limited to employee evaluations, resolving employee conflicts, corrective counseling and disciplinary action in a timely, constructive and fair manner.
- Continually interacts with Snack Bar Team Members to motivate and encourage them in the daily performance of their duties.
- Ensure the Snack Bar is kept neat and tidy at all times.
- Work closely with Snack Bar Manager and Sales to ensure details are executed for each special event and to lead the team in service and to complete the applicable group billing.
- Assist the Snack Bar Manager in performing all administrative duties as necessary relating to the resort/human resources policies.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly facility inspections to ensure the facility and equipment are kept clean and in good repair (safety, sanitation, food preparation, etc.).
- Ensure all safety regulations are implemented and followed.
- Maintaining inventory, ordering and product costs.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining controls to ensure there is no theft and to minimize waste of all products.
- Ensures the highest level of customer services for guests at all times.
- Professionally represents the Americana and the Snack Bar department at all times.
- All other duties as assigned by Snack Bar Manager.
**Professional Qualifications**:
- Completion of College or University in related field
- 2-5 years supervisory experience
- Smart Serve Certification
- Food Handlers Certificate
**Personal Qualities**:
- Must have excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Must be self-motivated and have excellent time management skills
- Must be computer literate
- Knowledge of food, wine and related beverages with previous up-selling/sales experience
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Exceptional standards of hygiene
- Exhibit a professional and positive attitude
- Flexible to work various shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Work safely in a fast-paced environment
- Honest and trustworthy
