Responsible for the day-to-day management of the OVP process and back-room conditions including the following:
OVP Process
- Check Receiving
- Daily Investigations of DC orders
- Reclamation
- Ensure reclamation is up to date and on process
- Morning Walk in COS with overnight leads for handover
- Investigate all overstock on sales floor prior to being placed in the backroom
- Picklist Huddle
- Ensure daily picklist is printed and has been distributed to each team in the morning huddle
- Binning
- Bin all overstock after it has been investigated into the designated areas sorted by aisle in Grocery, Natural Foods and HABA.
- Reverse scan
- Complete a reverse scan in Grocery, Natural Foods and HABA. Build OVP to go out pallets or carts based on reverse scan.
- Reverse Scan product worked to sales floor and investigated. Depending on the amount of product and time the OVP to go out can be worked and investigated
- Participate and assist with the 2pm FOG walk
- Audit planograms
- complete review of recently completed planograms and review integrity of facings and Retail Ready packaging compliance. Note opportunities and review with Manager
- Portal entry
- Complete new entries based off morning investigations and follow-up on resolutions from previous entries
- Staging Promo for afternoon Fill, (Pulling DRP’s out of racking)
- Managing Supplies Break down and pick up by Dept
- A monthly sticker is to be placed (from the meat department freezer process) on all OVP overstock cases to indicate when the articles were added to the OVP section. We use monthly stickers so that the Management Team can easily evaluate how long overstock has been in the store and arrange for an exit strategy as required.

Backroom Standards
- Working with the Store Manager to determine the best layout for the backroom to ensure the best flow of goods
- The backroom must be neat, clean and organized; every product must have a home
- There must be a designated area for free items/NOP (Not on Planogram)/DNO (Do Not Order)/APS (Reclamation)/ NOF (Not On File). These areas need to always be clean and organized

Investigations Area

The Investigations Area is for articles that are in the store without explanation or necessity.
- Cases in this area are to be investigated and entered into the portal/corrected as required
- There should be a clipboard next to this area, with logged notifications from the portal
- Once a response has been given from the portal team, the article needs to be actioned

New Products Area
- New Products should be lined in, if space permits, in the appropriate planogram as they arrive.
- If no space is available to line the item in or if the item is not active, new product cases are to be housed in the designated New Products area
- Product should be identified as ‘new; by writing it on the case

OVP ‘To Be Worked’ Area
- To Be Worked’ Area is designated for OVP Stock that has been pulled from the reverse scan and needs to be filled to the shelf.
- Scan all OVP Items and complete any PI corrections that are necessary from the OVP cart/pallet
- Allocate carts or pallets for Grocery, HABA, Natural Foods
- “To Be Worked” stock is added to incoming freight, and worked accordingly. If product can be worked earlier that is the most preferred.
- The night crew is to leave all overstock to be investigated during the Morning Walk

Reclamation
- Combine the Grocery, HABA and GM Reclamations into one central area.
- Top Shelf: Place vendor returns in plastic bins, labeled by vendor
- Middle Shelf: Place HABA Reclamations in plastic bins, as per policy along the APS Box for scan outs
- Bottom Shelf: For Grocery/GM. Items that must be scanned out are to be put in plastic totes. Items that have been scanned out must be placed in banana boxes. **Note** Some Stores may be required to allocate recall “on hold” items in this area as well, it is suggested that they are assigned to the bottom bunk

Compactor Rooms/Areas
- Compactor Rooms are to be clean and organize

Receiving Desk Area
- Regularly review the receiving desk for relevance and for anything that may be unnecessary. This is called a “purge”
