**Scope of the Position**

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Operations Manager with handling orders, getting quotes from vendors, invoicing, filing, and ordering office supplies. The position will consist of both Purchasing and Administrative duties.

**Major Responsibilities**
- Invoicing orders
- Assisting Operations Manager with orders
- Contacting vendors for quotes
- H&S tasks - office and warehouse inspections, maintaining H&S board
- Files documents accordingly
- Data entry
- Courteously answer telephone calls in a prompt manner and direct callers to the correct person.
- Collaborate with the Receptionist to ensure all clerical responsibilities are met on a daily basis.
- Keep inventory of the office supplies, and place orders when supplies are running short.
- Maintain vendor information in system
- New duties may be added to this description with proper explanation at any time

**Skills and Qualifications**
- 1 year purchasing and/or 1 year administrative experience
- Responsible and reliable
- Accurate and able to follow instructions
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Excellent organizational skills
- Polite and personable
- Good team player, contributing to a pleasant and effective atmosphere
