Reporting to the Manager, Programs and Operations, the incumbent develops and delivers Communications courses in the Liberal Arts programs. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening at the Barrie Campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Delivers Communication courses in the Liberal Arts Program
- Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluates student progress / achievement
- Participates in program and college activities as required
- Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
- Creates and maintains a positive learning environment

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Required**:

- A diploma and/or degree in the disciplines or fields of study such as Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations or a related field
- Demonstrated experience teaching/coaching/advising others in topics related to communications.
- Knowledge and expertise related to literacy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
- Experience promoting change and leading innovation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to life-long learning
- Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
- Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising and student success strategies
- Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
