The Adoption and Permanency Branch (APB) is responsible for supporting timely permanency planning and adoption for children and youth in care throughout the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), Indigenous Child and Family Service Agencies (ICFSA), and the practice oversight of Licensed Adoption Agencies. The branch provides direct services to the public and community partners throughout BC, Canada and internationally in the administration of Adoption Registries. The APB incorporates the principles of Aboriginal Policy and Practice Framework, the Truth and Reconciliation Report
- Calls to Action, the United Nation Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the United Nations Rights of the Child.

The Program/Operations Analyst has a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to providing support and consultation to ICFSAs holding or acquiring adoption delegation. The analyst provides Child Family and Community Service Act, Aboriginal Operational and Practice Standards and Indicators (AOPSI), Permanency Planning policies and Adoption Act related consultation, mentoring, and support to permanency and adoption practice. The analyst also provides operational support and assists in ensuring ICFSAs and adoption staff have the required knowledge, skills and supports to deliver the highest quality of service to children, youth, families, and communities. The analyst works closely with ICFSAs and other branches of MCFD regarding practice and operational permanency and adoption matters.

**Job Requirements**:

- Bachelor or Master of Social Work; Bachelor or Master of Arts in Child and Youth Care; Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology or Master of Education/Counseling or in a related field, in conjunction with child welfare/family service work experience (and completion of a practicum in child welfare/family service). Other relevant equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in a social service setting providing consultation and advice.
- Experience in client services and/or stakeholder consultation and consensus building.
- Experience working with Indigenous people, communities and/or ICFSAs.

**Preference may be given to applicants with one or more of the following**
- Six or more months project management experience.
- Six or more months supervisory experience.
- Applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.

Currently there is one (1) temporary opportunity until February 8, 2024, that may extend.
This temporary appointment may be extended.
