The Operational Policy and Inclusive Employment team is a passionate and supportive group committed to developing equitable and accessible policies that impact over 90,000 job seekers annually, many of whom are underrepresented in the workforce. Our established team works collaboratively across divisions and ministries to drive innovative, evidence-informed initiatives that support sustainable employment and poverty reduction. **The Role**
As a lead authority on WorkBC Employment Services, the Director, Operational Policy and Inclusive Employment, collaborates across the division and ministry to shape equitable, accessible, and evidence-informed employment policies and programs. This impactful role supports over 90,000 job seekers annually, helping underrepresented populations achieve sustainable employment and improve their quality of life. This role offers a unique opportunity for a passionate leader to champion inclusive policies that enable British Columbians to realize their full potential and contribute to the province's prosperity.

**Qualifications**:
**Education and Experience Requirements**
- Degree in Social Sciences, Humanities, Public Administration or in a related field; an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.
- Two (2) years experience leading the planning, development and implementation of policy, programs, and initiatives.
- Two (2) years experience establishing and maintaining successful, trust-based working relationships with diverse external stakeholders and internal partners to strengthen program and policy development.
- Two (2) years experience managing and leading employees.

Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:

- Have knowledge and experience in employment and/or labour market policy and programs.
- Have experience leading the planning, development and implementation of policy, programs, and initiatives that consider equity deserving populations.
- Additional years' experience in any of the above requirements or preferences.

**About this Position**:
This is a temporary opportunity until 02/06/2026. This position may be extended or become permanent.
A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies.
A Criminal Record Check (CRC) will be required.
Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
This position is excluded from union membership.
