**ADVISOR, PUBLIC AFFAIRS**:
The Public Legal and Corporate Affairs Branch is looking for an Advisor, Public Affairs for an indeterminate position. The position is classified as an RÉ-05 ($68,641 to $91,072 per annum), salary under review.

**DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION**
Reporting to the Manager, Public Consultations, the Advisor, Public Affairs provides strategic advice, plans and implements public engagement approaches for the National Capital Commission (NCC). These include public consultations, community relations, stakeholder liaison, public meetings of the Board of Directors, toponymy projects and outreach initiatives such as the _Open NCC _event and the Urbanism Lab conference series. The Advisor Public Affairs uses sound judgement, project management and collaborative approaches to deliver activities in a fast-paced environment, that incorporate GBA+ analysis, inclusive engagement, accessibility and align with the NCC’s Sustainable Development Strategy. The individual also develops digital engagement tools, surveys, workshops, as well as feedback analysis and reporting.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**:
**EDUCATION**:University degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Political Science, Business Administration or an acceptable combination of post-secondary education and related work experience.

**EXPERIENCE**:At least 3 years work experience in public engagement, public consultations, stakeholder relations, and/or community relations.- Experience in project management and/or event management.
- Experience analyzing data and writing reports.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- of stakeholder engagement, community relations and public consultation approaches and best practices.
- of relevant public engagement and communications policies, accessibility policies, and environmental policies and standards (e.g., the Accessible Canada Act, GBA+, etc.).

**ABILITIES**
- to facilitate meetings and deliver effective presentations.

- to create correspondence for the public and manage content on digital channels.

- Knowledge of environmental review processes or urban planning processes (e.g., the Government of Canada impact assessment process, municipal planning approvals, etc.).
- Knowledge of Government of Canada Communications Policy and Digital Standards or the NCC’s Public Engagement Policy.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Possess or eligible to obtain reliability security clearance.
- Linguistic profile: Bilingual CBC.
