Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Canada's Building Trades Unions Full time

POLICY & PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROFESSIONAL

ABOUT CBTU

Canada's Building Trades Unions is the national voice for 14 construction trades unions representing 600,000 skilled trades workers from coast to coast to coast.

Since 1908 Canada's Building Trades Unions and our members have built the roads, bridges, hospitals, schools and factories that fuel economic prosperity and safe communities of all Canadians.

Our contractors and members are the folks that keep your house warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

We deliver value. Every Day.

THE ROLE

Canada's Building Trades Unions is looking for a Policy and Public Affairs Specialist to help advance our public policy agenda on behalf of our members, and for all Canadians.

They will deliver data-driven, evidence-based policy recommendations - and help formulate policy working with our affiliated unions, through multilateral government bodies, and non-government fora.

In addition to developing policies, the Policy & Public Affairs Specialist will help educate decision-makers on those policies - including developing communications products, briefs, and presentations to support evidence-based policymaking.

This position reports directly to the National Public Affairs Manager, with a dotted line to the Executive Director of Canada's Building Trades Unions when advising on matters of policy.

If you're a smart, dedicated, and ambitious professional who wants to work for workers, we want to hear from you.
