**About the position**

Reporting to the Secretary General of the Global Centre for Pluralism, the Manager, Communications and Public Affairs holds a multifaceted role, encompassing diverse responsibilities:
**Strategic Communications**
- Lead the development, management, and implementation of the Centre’s communication strategies and activities. This role is pivotal in supporting organizational objectives and ensuring the comprehensive articulation of pluralism as an issue, resonating with key audiences and influencers both in Canada and globally.
- Provide high-level leadership concerning messaging and outreach, ensuring all materials across various channels consistently reinforce the Centre’s brand, mission, priorities, and values.

**Internal/Program Communications Support**
- Provide leadership and support to program teams in developing and delivering strategic communications outreach, in close collaboration with the Director of Programs and Partnerships.
- Support program staff in translating knowledge and content into effective communication products.
- Oversee the management of branding and marketing across different programmatic communication materials, encompassing the main brand, the Awards, and the Global Pluralism Monitor assets.
- Lead the development of video communication assets for the Centre.

**Public Affairs**
- Cultivate robust media relationships in Canada, collaborating with media consultants as needed, especially in connection with programs.
- Manage the Centre’s website, broader web presence, and virtual identity. This includes overseeing social media campaigns and content, as well as providing support to programs on virtual content.
- Assume the role of Editor in Chief, ensuring quality control and maintaining a consistent tone throughout all communication channels.

**Events and Convening**
- Oversee the events calendar, supporting programs on events within and outside of Ottawa, both in Canada and globally.
- Provide support to the Secretary General for speaking engagements and speechwriting.

**Departmental Leadership**
- Take responsibility for the development and management of the annual Communications and Public Affairs budget.
- Manage the Communications and Public Affairs team.
- Sit on the Management Committee of the Centre.
- Supervise consultants, develop, and maintain external communications partnerships.
- Oversee the production of corporate communications, including the Annual Report and Corporate Plan.
- Be accountable for reporting division and organizational results to key stakeholders, including the Board and the Government of Canada.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in communications and/or public engagement roles.
- Exceptional written communication and editing skills.
- Strategic and creative thinker with a collaborative approach.
- Demonstrated capacity in developing multimedia communications products and online content.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and requests in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Proven experience in managing diverse teams of professionals.
- Background in engaging with international communications partners and executing global media outreach.
- High level of professionalism and results-oriented mindset.
