**Overview**

The Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR) is a national museum dedicated to the evolution, celebration, and future of human rights. It is the first national museum in Canada to be built outside the National Capital Region. Located in the heart of Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the CMHR rises from the Prairie earth at The Forks, which has been a meeting place for over six thousand years.

The CMHR delivers an immersive, interactive, and memorable experience for visitors of every background, age and ability. Each visitor has access to a fully reinvented museum experience that reflects a design approach that sets new Canadian and world standards for inclusion and universal accessibility.

**_ Key Responsibilities_**
- Contributes to a culture that promotes respect, equity, inclusion and innovation, and models anti-racist and accountable behaviours.
- Schedules/arranges meetings and appointments, distributing meeting agendas; prepares and distributes minutes, makes boardroom and venue bookings; coordinates and organizes travel arrangements.
- Prepares/edits correspondence, communications, presentations, and other documents as requested.
- Serves as a reception and communication conduit for the staff and management teams and co-ordinates the flow of information.
- Maintains filing and records.
- Updates relevant internal systems and databases and processes financial information (e.g., expenses) via entry into the financial management system.
- Gathers, compiles and consolidates information/data into established reporting formats.
- Provides administrative support/coordination for a variety of cross-functional special projects and participates in and contributes to CMHR administrative and coordination process improvement initiatives.
- May provide backup to the Executive Assistant to the CEO as required and performs other additional related administrative and coordination support services as directed.

**_ Required Qualifications_**
- High school diploma or equivalent and 3-4 years of administrative experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting team members from various levels in the organization.
- Commitment to human rights principles, including respect, equity, inclusion, and dignity for all.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with aptitude for preparing and formatting correspondence, reports and documents; proficiency using online meeting tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate proficiently in both official languages.

**_Desired Qualifications_**
- Experience serving senior-level management would be considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in office or business administration or a related field.

- Work involves dealing with tight deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- May occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch and reach (while filing); moves about the Museum for meetings and to distribute documents, etc.
