Job Title: Line Cook
Education: High School + Industry Experience
Anticipated Length of Employment: Full time or, Part time as required.

Kitchen staff are responsible for the operation of the kitchen line, including any and all banquet functions occurring on their shift. Line cooks are responsible for the preparation of all food orders punched into the POS system for the lounge, bar and patio. They are tasked with doing this in a timely manner and up to the quality standards for Whitewater.
They work with the lounge and banquet staff in a team atmosphere to achieve the goals set out by management. Line cooks are responsible for the proper cooking and presentation of all menu items.

Line Cooks work directly under the direction of the Executive Chef and play an integral part in the daily operations of the golf club. The Executive Chef, Food & Beverage
Supervisor, Food & Beverage Manager and General Manager of the club provide daily supervision for this position.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Valid Safe Food Handling certificate and practice responsible service.
- Full knowledge and adhere to Whitewater’s standards of service.
- Standard knowledge of meal recipes.
- Menu knowledge and service standards.
- Knowledge of current inventory controls and standards.
- Follow and adhere to Whitewater’s Rules and Regulations as defined in the employee handbook.
- Strong organizational skills with progressive thinking.
- Troubleshooting skills.
- Self motivated and able to see the big picture of the daily operation of the club.
- Time management skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with difficult situations with poise and diplomacy.
- Adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the golf club.
- Become familiar with and adhere to the clubs Health & Safety requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

- General prep work for both kitchen line and banquets. (IE Peel potatoes, slice vegetables etc)
- Read tickets off kitchen printer and prepare orders with necessary modifications.
- Display knowledge of the Lounge & Banquet menu.
- Display knowledge of specific food & beverage items including ingredients, pricing and substitutes.
- Preparing and expediting food orders.
- Listen and respond to customer needs.
- Ensure kitchen line is clean and free of clutter at all times.
- Stocking the line. (IE to go containers, garnishes, etc)
- Run kitchen dishwasher as needed, ensure chemical levels are correct.
- General cleaning duties, including vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying garbage.
- Assist servers as needed.
- Work with other employees by being a team player.
- Report any and all complaints to management attention.
- All other duties as instructed by management.
