Procurement Specialist

Position Summary:
407 ETR operates, maintains, and owns the right to toll the world’s first all-electronic, open-access toll highway which is situated just north of Toronto and stretches 108 kilometers from the west to the east of the GTA. 407 ETR uses leading edge technologies to enable a barrier free highway and provide customers with a fast, safe, and reliable travel alternative. The Company’s sophisticated highway electronics and business computer systems will track usage and manage each customer’s account.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Procurement Manager and Sr. Procurement Specialists on various initiatives, including the ongoing work in developing supply chain metrics; the continuous evaluation of spend across the organization to obtain optimum value for money; managing the procurement life cycle to ensure it is efficient and adhering to best practices; performing data gathering and analysis related to procurement policies, and processes.
- Responsible for the Transportation /Logistics Category
- Interface with internal customers to understand their requirements for products and services.
- Support the administration of Special Projects
- Prepare and facilitate the issuance and tracking of purchase orders as well as the creation of new suppliers into the financial system and accurate and timely payment of invoices.
- Execute and support the process requirements through ServiceNow Procurement Requests up to and including Contract Administration, and Execution
- Liaises with the Accounts Payable (A/P), Finance and business teams with regards to purchase requirements and requisitions, invoices, cost discrepancies, and address re-occurring concerns.
- Aid in the planning, tracking, updating, reporting and execution of planned programs, procurement activities, procurement trackers and systems to ensure compliance, accurate data tracking, and procurement policies and guidelines are adhered to.
- Assist with the preparation and review of various contracts, documents, presentations, communication, and report for completeness, and record information in various databases/systems/tools.
- Work in partnership with all applicable departments to accomplish category objectives and work together to achieve these cost savings and avoidance objectives through pro-active communications and relationship buildings with colleagues and other departments as necessary to attain pertinent information and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide support to ensure that suppliers and service providers comply with all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and regulatory requirements for the products / services that they provide.
- Investigate opportunities for cost savings that will substantially reduce overall annualized costs of purchased goods and services.
- Identify and recommend continuous procurement process improvements to achieve improved services, cost reductions, supplier performance and Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Assist the development and administration of RFx requirements and coordinates the RFx process and evaluation process to ensure timely results and is upheld according to existing policies and procedures; promotes competition amongst suppliers for goods and services.
- Build, develop and maintain strong relationships with internal business stakeholders and key suppliers/vendors.
- Protect and ensure vendor pricing and financial information is kept confidential.
- Ensure full compliance with the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
- Other duties, tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- CSCMP Certified Supply Chain Management Professional Designation or equivalent is an asset.
- Strong data analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, summarize, and disseminate significant amounts of information and key points for stakeholders with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience utilizing visual analytics platforms for data analytics and report creation to transform information into the appropriate visual graphs, charts, or map to help manage reporting requirements.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and presentation skills to translate findings and interact professionally in multiple formats with all levels of the organization as well as suppliers and others outside the organization.
- Demonstrates success in working effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
- Agility is required to perform in a fast-paced, highly professional, and collaborative environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with mínimal supervision.
- Experience in Microsoft (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) tools for data manipulation, report creation and presentations.
- Knowledge and Experience implementing procurement tools to enhance overall operation.
- Experience with PeopleSoft 8.9 and ServiceNow is an asset.
