**Bookkeeper Needed**

**Job Duties**:

- Oversee transactions in the firm’s general and trust accounts.
- Post firm accounts and disbursements.
- Perform trust fund transfers.
- Reconcile general and trust accounts, and credit cards on a monthly basis.
- Remit GST and PST returns.
- Prepare and make bank deposits online.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Generate general and trust cheques.
- Maintain petty cash.
- Support the accounting department with clerical duties such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents, and month end financial procedures.
- Organize and maintain accurate records.
- Perform all work in accordance with Law Society rules and regulations.

**Employment Requirements**
- Certificate in bookkeeping, or a similar credential with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
- Familiarity with Sage accounting software and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to take direction and seek instructions.
- Previous work experience in a private law office or with trust accounting rules considered an asset.

**Job Details**
- Minimum $50,000 per year (based on experience).
- Benefits include extended health, dental, vision, and 100% prescription coverage, in addition to life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, accident and serious illness insurance, and paid time off.
- Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week during business hours Mon-Fri).
- This is NOT a remote position.

**Location**

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
