**Role Overview**

Reporting to the Director of Trades, the Program Coordinator will work directly with Training and Employment Coach’s, engage with employer partners and training providers, coordinate ACCESS Trades events, order, track tools, equipment and other supplies for trainees entering school and support Training and Employment Coach’s as needed.

**Primary Responsibilities**

**Responsibilities**
- Supports planning and coordination of Trades programs and activities including but not limited to, trainee onboarding, coordination with Essential Skills staff, external training providers and employer tours.
- Collaborates with the Program Manager on trainee selection including the interview process
- Maintains budget and track expenditures, transactions, resource allocation and availability with each program delivery in collaboration with the Director and Program Manager.
- Supports the Director and Program Manager with building ACCESS brand awareness within the greater Vancouver area trades sector, training institutions and other community partners.
- Plans, schedules and organizes Trades related meetings/events.
- Maintains accurate administrative records and provides the Director with regular updates including quarterly program data.
- Awareness of ACCESS programs and services to ensure the successful outcome for all trainees.
- Other duties as required by the Director.

**Education and experience**

Diploma in Business Administration (preferred), Finance, or related discipline with 1-year progressive leadership experience, preferably some in the construction industry, or a combination of education and experience will be considered. Trades certification is an asset. Experience working with a large complex program/department. Solid knowledge and awareness of Indigenous culture and barriers faced by urban Indigenous peoples.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**

Experience working with Urban Indigenous community and/or First Nations organizations.

Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.

Knowledge in interview process best practices.

Knowledge of SkilledtradesBC Trades designations.

Strong collaborator with professional written and oral communication skills.

Excellent ability to develop and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with staff, institutions and other stakeholders.

Ability to take initiative and leadership, as well as be a strong team player who aligns with ACCESS’ core values.

Hands-on experience with internal and external database(s), including ARMS Data Base for SPF funded clients (Cohorts/ISPs), including report writing as required.

Valid drivers’ licence (Class 5 preferred) and a reliable vehicle.
