The Engineering Department is looking for someone with strong communication, public engagement, and research skills and who is creative, persuasive and inspired to drive our community education and activation initiatives to reach broader audiences.
- With an emphasis on community outreach programming and community engagement, the Coordinator is responsible for resident education, community partnerships and the coordination of staff engagement that support the District's strategic objectives in the areas of waste reduction, water conservation, and active transportation.
The key accountabilities for this position include:
- planning and implementing educational and engagement initiatives, including outreach programs, school programs, and pilot projects;
- developing, launching, and monitoring impact of community-based social marketing initiatives to achieve sustainability targets;
- preparing marketing and communications materials (for online and print publication), with production and graphics support from the Communications Department;
- maintaining and evaluating data or statistics on a variety of sustainability programs and activities to monitor reach and impact;
- performing research on best practices in areas of solid waste diversion, active transportation and demand-side management, and supporting a team in implementing recommendations;
- preparing and maintaining a variety of reports, periodically presenting results of various initiatives to internal and external audiences; and
- supporting the Engineering Admin team in responding to varied complaints, problems, and inquiries from the public.

- Starting Rate of Pay:
- $34.24 per hour
