We are hiring an **EH&S Specialist** to join our team at FreshPoint Vancouver.

Reporting to the Regional EH&S Manager, this boots on the ground role will be responsible for supporting FreshPoint’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, coordinating the Transportation Safety program to ensure compliance with relevant provincial and federal regulations and analyzing and coordinating various EHS administrative functions to achieve EHS objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Organize and support the creation implementation and updating of EHS policies, procedures and programs including document creation and training implementation.
- Administration and maintenance of training documents including updating training matrices.
- Updating and maintaining EHS metrics including Occupational Related and Auto Liability.
- Safety Data Sheets inventory reconciliation with products in the warehouse.
- Accurate data entry into EHS online tools.
- Assist with corrective action plan management including drafting, implementing and follow up on action plans as required.
- Perform data collection, analysis and data reporting to Manager for decision making purposes.
- Draft, edit and prepare EHS team correspondence, reports and other material using word processing, spreadsheets and/or databases+.
- Conduct focused Safety Training/Coaching with multi-functional teams including Warehouse and Transportation.
- Manage equipment safety certifications.
- Conduct Safety Ride Alongs with Transportation.
- Conduct Safety Walkthroughs/Inspections.
- Work with cross-functional teams including Operations, Food Safety and Human Resources.
- Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met.
- Is willing to work safely with mínimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor.
- Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**:

- 3+ years experience in a warehousing, industrial or transportation environment in a health and safety, training or risk management capacity.
- Post-secondary education with major course work in EH&S, safety, or related field considered an asset.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal EH&S and WCB requirements and industry standards and best practices.
- OFA2 or capability to obtain certification is an asset.
- MHE/PIE Trainer Certification is an asset.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Effective communication skills and ability to present information to all levels of the organization.
- Strong time management and organization skills.
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License required.

**Location**: 1020 Malkin Avenue, Vancouver, BC V3C 6H8

**Work Schedule**:

- Core working hours: Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.
- May be required to work outside of the core working hours from time to time.
